A man who broke into a woman's home, raped her and stole her wedding rings, among other things, has been sentenced to 100-years in prison.
Brian Garrett, 31-years-old, had a mistrial back in March.
Craven County D.A. Scott Thomas says on Wednesday Garrett was convicted of robbery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of first degree assault, attempted first degree murder, attempted first degree kidnapping, first degree rape, and breaking and entering.
Prosecutors say in 2009, Garrett went to the woman's home and raped her and then stabbed her and cut her throat before leaving.
