A man accused of breaking into 2 homes this summer in Pamlico County and stealing nearly $25,000 in cash and jewelry is now behind bars.
The Pamlico County Sheriff's Office says Stephen Stilley of Bayboro broke into a home back in June and stole a box containing nearly $22,000. The damaged money box was recovered at Stilley's home but the money has not been recovered. They also say he broke into another home August 5th and stole jewelry valued at just over $2,000. Deputies say a portion of the jewelry was recovered at Stilleys home. His bond was set at $65,000.
