Old U.S. 70 Reopens After Log Truck Accident

Old U.S. 70 was closed in western Craven County for several hours this morning after a log truck accident.

The wreck involved a log truck and a vehicle and happened around 9:15 a.m. near the intersection with Dry Monia Road.

The log truck straddled the highway with logs spilled onto the pavement.

Both drivers were injured in the crash. The log truck, from L&H Trucking, was driven my Latoya Anderson of Dover, while the sedan was driven by John Hill.

There is no word yet on what caused the accident.
