The storms Monday once again produced dangerous lightning, which the New Bern Fire Department says was the cause of a house fire.
It took about 30 minutes to fully contain the blaze on Hampton Way Road in Trent Woods.
Crews tell us there is severe damage to the inside of the home.
The fire was called in around 3:00 p.m. Monday afternoon.
