Lenoir County Native Selected To Lead Boy Scouts

An Eastern Carolina native has been selected to lead the Boy Scouts of America.

Wayne Brock, a graduate of South Lenoir High School and ECU, was named today as Chief Scout Executive. He had been deputy Chief Scout Executive since 2009.

Brock was a scout in Kinston growing up and began his professional scouting career in 1972 as a district executive in New Bern. He is the recipient of the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award.

He will assume his new position on September 1st.
