Insurance Representatives To Meet With Irene Victims

The N.C. Department of Insurance has set up two insurance assistance centers for Hurricane Irene victims who still have lingering insurance questions.

Representatives from the Department of Insurance and the National Flood Insurance Program will be available at two locations in Eastern Carolina to meet with people in person.

People should bring their policy information with them when requesting assistance.

"If you have a question or complaint about your claim, we need to hear from you," said N.C. Insurance Commissioner Wayne Goodwin. "The more specific information we have from you, the more we may be able to help."

The schedule for the Insurance Assistance Centers is as follows:
-- Oct. 10-11, NCDOI Eastern Regional Office, 1316 Unit A, Commerce Drive, New Bern, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
-- Oct. 11, Dare County Board of Commissioner's Meeting Room, 954 Marshall Collins Drive, Manteo, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
-- Oct. 12, Salvo Fire Department on Hatteras Island, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Assistance is also available by phone during regular business hours, Monday through Friday.
