Havelock Man Dies Overseas

A local man has died in Afghanistan while working for a contractor.

Forty-year-old Jason Hamilton of Havelock died Saturday while working for Boeing, in support of the Army 1st Cavalry. Hamilton had previously served as a helicopter crew chief for the Marines for five years. Hamilton worked for Boeing on the V-22 Osprey and H-46 Sea Knight out of New River.

Hamilton is said to have died from natural causes.
