Restaurant managers in Havelock say a crook had his or her mind set on a break-in early Saturday morning.

City of Havelock public information officer, Diane Miller, said dispatchers got the call for a break-in at Taste of China restaurant along Highway 70 in Havelock on Saturday.

Restaurant employees tell WITN one of their front, glass doors was shattered and all the cash inside the business was gone once they got in Saturday.

Managers at Big Apple Pizza, the business next door, said they believe the same crook originally tried to get in their establishment, but failed and went on to the Chinese restaurant.

No injuries were reported and both businesses were open and serving customers Saturday.

The investigation continues this weekend.
