Great Dane sisters Paddy and Shellie are doing much better today after the two were left for dead in the Croatan National Forest in Craven County last month.
The dogs, who had their first reunion Monday, have come a long way since we last saw them. Each dog has gained weight and both are very happy dogs.
Last time we saw the sisters back in November, Paddy tried to play but Shellie was too weak. Then Shellie weighed 55 pounds and Paddy weighted 60 pounds. Both the dogs have continued to gain weight, they're each at least 30 pounds heavier.
As far as adoption, Shellie and Paddy need to get healthier before they are spayed and they cannot be adopted until then.
Animal Control is still looking for the individual that dumped these dogs back in November. Anyone with information is asked to call Craven Pamlico Animal Services at 252-637-4606.
