A man is in custody at this hour for a shooting Vanceboro late Wednesday.
The Craven County Sheriff's Office says 21-year-old Tyron Wallace is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill for the shooting at 255 Bailey Lane in Vanceboro. Law enforcement was called to that location at 10 p.m. Wednesday.
The shooting victim was taken to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. Their name and condition is not available at this time.
Wallace has a criminal record, including a conviction in 2010 for larceny. In 2009, Wallace was convicted of breaking and entering.
It happened right around 10:00 p.m Wednesday at 255 Bailey Lane in Vanceboro. Craven County dispatch could only say they had a report of a person being shot and that the sheriff's office is investigating.
