This morning's fog prompted a weather alert and school delays.
Warmer temperatures are on tap through tomorrow.
On Saturday, colder weather will set in for the weekend.
The National Weather Service issued a dense fog advisory until 9:00 a.m. Thursday for Duplin, Jones, Craven, Pamlico, Carteret, and Onslow counties which means visibility will be reduced to less than one quarter of a mile at times.
Several school systems are operating on delays.

The NWS says patchy dense fog has also developed across Northampton, Hertford, and Bertie counties. There are pockets of fog across much of Eastern Carolina.
The NWS says if you're driving reduce your speed, use your low beam headlights, and leave plenty of distance between your vehicle and those around you.
