Crowd Gathers, Young Woman Assaulted & Taken To Hospital

A young woman was taken to the hospital after a group of young adults and kids gathered in New Bern early Sunday evening.

New Bern police found the crowd when they responded to a call of a fight on Roundtree Street at the A Building of Craven Terrace just before 7 o'clock Sunday night.

Police report a young woman told them she been assaulted by a man. Officers interviewed several witnesses and are working to identify the suspect.

Police report the victim’s father requested the young woman be taken by ambulance to the hospital for her injuries. There is no word on her condition.

    for all yall saying tear it down ok but all thats going to is bring them to a neborhood near u so keep saying it they might just move beside u

    there are some good people in craven terraces if they tear it down where we live at. Some people can't afford to the rent on a house.

    Same area (Section 8); same junk (crowds in the p.m.; crime); different day. That place needs to be evicted, cleaned out, cleaned up, and re-thunk. It's just a little 'Thugville' in there now. It's time for a HUGE change in that area.

    I'll go out on a limb here and guess those involved are low income, high school drop outs that were born on the government dime without married parents living with them

    if dad requested she be taken because ems had not made her go then she was ok, meaning minor injuries. witn: if you are really so obsessed in finding negative stories but cant find anything more to report than high school kids fighting you may want to seek other employment options.
