Croatan Fire Expected To Burn For Another Week

The expected date of full containment for the Croatan National Forest fire has been moved back again.

Officials now expect the fire to be fully contained by Friday, July 6th. The fire was previously expected to be completely under control by Saturday, June 30th.

The fire is 98% contained with 89 firefighters continuing to battle the more than 21-thousand acre fire.

The fire has been burning since June 16th.
