CRAVEN COUNTY: Will Open Shelters If Needed
Craven County Emergency Service Director Stanley Kite says the county is prepared to open shelters if needed.
Kite says residents who have experienced flooding in the past need to prepare for the worst effects from Sandy with several inches of rainfall expected and storm surge.
"There are those that know where they need to voluntarily seek shelter to higher ground, and I hate to say, but a lot of them that used to be there are no longer there due to Isabel and Irene," said Kite.
