A woman spent the night in her car after police say she fell asleep at the wheel and her car followed railroad tracks for a couple hundred yards before going into a ditch.
Authorities tell WITN the woman, who they identify as 20-year-old Lisa England, drove into a ditch along Highway 70 near Taberna Lane in the James City area of Craven County. They believe that happened about 9:30 Wednesday night, and the woman spent the rest of the night in her vehicle.
Emergency crews had stopped a train along the tracks as they worked to get England from her car and to pull the car out of the ditch.
England, who is from Arizona and is here visiting family, was not hurt and not taken to the hospital for treatment. Police say she is under a doctor's care for a sleep disorder.
Officials say England will be charged with an unsafe moving violation.
