FIRST ON WITN: Abandoned Home Goes Up In Flames

The fire is out, but crews are still trying to determine what cause a house to go up in flames early Wednesday morning in Craven County.

Craven County Assistant Emergency Services Director Ira Whitford says once crews arrived on the scene they found the single story home fully engulfed.

Whitford says it took four fire departments to get the flames under control on the 4000 block of Old Cherry Point Road.

He says there was no electricity to the abandoned home and there were storms in the area Wednesday morning. Whitford says the cause of the fire is under investigation.
