One man is in jail and police are looking for a second suspect after this morning's home invasion that happened in Havelock.
Police got the call to Cedar Lane around 3:30 a.m. after the residents say two men with handguns forced their way into the residence and demanded money.
The gunmen bound the victims' hands and feet and covered their heads while they removed money and electronics from the home.
One of the victims was able to free himself after the gunmen left and called police. Neither of the victims were injured.
Nicholas Tarote-Smith of Havelock has been charged with robbery with a firearm or dangerous weapon, first degree burglary and second degree kidnapping. Police searched the 22-year-old man's Havelock residence and seized two weapons believed used in the robbery, as well as clothing worn and cash and property stolen from the home.
Police say they are still looking for the second gunman in the home invasion.
The search continues for two men who broke into a home in Havelock early Friday.
The man who lives at 203 Cedar Ridge Lane in Havelock tells WITN's Carly Swain that the two men came in through his backdoor while he was taking his dog out early Friday morning. Police said the robbery was reported at 4:45 a.m.
The victim reported the two intruders took $1,500 in cash and some video game equipment. He sustained a minor injury to his thumb.
Havelock Police were called to 203 Cedar Ridge Lane in Havelock around 4:45 a.m. The home is off Highway 70, and near Havelock High School.
Police tell WITN they are actively searching for a suspect or suspects of the breaking and entering case.
There were no serious injuries to report.
