New Bern Police told WITN the robbery occurred on National Avenue, close to Glenburnie Park.
Earlier on Tuesday, police told WITN the robbery occurred in the parking lot of a local convenience store.
Police said it looks like an encounter involving drugs turned into an armed robbery in New Bern.
Investigators told WITN that two people were robbed at gunpoint on Monday afternoon in the parking lot of Five Points Variety Store on National Avenue.
Police said the suspect, a man in his early 20's, left in a light blue, Grand Marquis. That car was last seen driving toward George Street.
While no one was injured, police said an undetermined amount of cash was taken. Police do have a suspect in mind and plan on serving warrants.
