Authorities say he forged a prescription to get drugs.
Tuesday New Bern Police arrested Billy Joyner for the crime.
The Pikeville man had reportedly tried to get controlled substances by using the forged prescription.
Joyner was charged with obtaining a controlled substance by forgery and was booked into the Craven County Jail under a $20,000.00 bond.
He had his court appearance Wednesday.
