Cherry Point Air Show Now Every Two Years

Cherry Point says it will no longer hold an air show on the air station every year.

The base says the air show will return to a biennial schedule, meaning the show will be every two years.

Marines say the air show, which dates back to the mid-1940s, had been every two years for most of those years. In 2007, Cherry Point switched to an annual event.

This year's show will take off May 21st through the 23rd. After that the next Cherry Point Air Show will take place in 2012.

The founding fathers enumerated that a standing military was necessary for the protection and preservation of our rights. Our military is made up of patriotic Americans who have sworn to protect and uphold our constitution. They are to be admired and lauded for their service. People such as "The Voice" need to leave the U.S. and find another place to live that supports their view as their philosophy is bathed in ignorance. Go Marines and be proud of your commitment even though you may be surrounded by mental midgets. I love the air shows and the military!!!

The Voice- you mean American exceptionalism, engineering, pride and freedom. You have no class but you certainty have a Voice and those young men and women represented at that air show are to only thing keeping you and yours safe from true Imperialism and Militarism at the hands of Arrogant socialist and/or communist dictators. You know, even the Swiss put on military Air Shows. Give us a break and let us have some fun!

Ah. Another event to instill unwavering and unquestionable patriotism in all "true Americans". To those of us do not support your "heroes", it is nothing more than a public display of all American imperialism, militarism, and arrogance.

I would much rather see my tax dollars going here than for all the freeloaders on welfare. The air show brings the spirit of patriotism back to the foreground

How much TAX MONEY does it take to put on the show?? Maybe, once every 10 yrs would work better.

They should make it every six months instead of every two years.
