Two Teens Charged In Mall Carjacking

Police say they have made two arrests in last week's carjacking outside of the New Bern Mall.

New Bern police, with the help of Pamlico County deputies, located Marvin Blango. The 16-year-old from Bayboro is charged with common law robbery, kidnapping, assault and conspiracy to commit robbery.

They have also charged a second teen with the car theft. Torian Crawford of New Bern was already in the Carteret County jail on other charges. He too is charged with common law robbery, kidnapping, assault and conspiracy to commit robbery.

In that robbery a woman was physically assaulted after her vehicle was stolen in the mall parking lot. She was treated and released from the hospital while her car was found the next day near Trent Court.

Blango is in the Craven County jail on a $250,000 bond, while Crawford's bond was increased by a $100,000 for his additional charges.

Previous Story

Police say they are looking for a teenager for questioning regarding a carjacking at the New Bern Mall Wednesday night.

Marvin Blango has not been charged with any crime, police say they just want to speak with him about the robbery.

In that robbery a woman was physically assaulted after her vehicle was stolen in the mall parking lot. She was treated and released from the hospital while her car was found the next day near Trent Court.

Blango is a 16-year-old black male, 5'8" tall and weighs approximately 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a burgundy colored shirt, black pants, a white “doo rag”, and white in color tennis shoes.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Blango should call New Bern police at 252-672-4100.

Neo is right., Mr. Think sounds uneducated (the way he writes) Mr. Think asked the question "What can you do to HELP, not Solve, but Help the situation?" It's not WE who have CAUSED the problem. Life is perpetuated by procreation. The offspring can become better than the parents... or worse (depending on how they are raised). It's obvious that the African-American community has not improved itself and maybe backslid somewhat in the last 30 years. Who is to blame? Those that procreated!! Did they do a good job teaching their children right from wrong? The sad truth is, the mixing with White children has brought many of the White kids down as well. If a White mom tells her child not to associate with AA kids, she's considered a racist. So, she's a bad guy for wanting better for her kids. Illogical!

"Mr Neo" I know the statistics. But since you feel that black people is the issue here. Then the next thing you need to be asking yourself Mr Neo what can you do to HELP, not Solve, but Help the situation?. But I can already guess how you will answer that question by the aggression in your comment. B/c to help a situation you must understand a situation. (But then again i dont know you)But i do know one thing I have my played part and still continue to play my part in helping people of all race. Its easy to point a finger and not do nothing my freind. But to be honest those statistics dosent mean anything when you open your eyes and look at the bigger picture at hand. Yes, maybe this majority of blacks you speak of is top of these crimes. Take them away and i promise you it wouldnt make one diffrence in todays system, things will get worse and worse. The point is if you feel and think the way you do now then you probaly already part of a statistic. And thats the REALITY.

"Mr Think", you need to think a little harder. Crime statistics do not lie. You want to take the very few annual cases of the brainiac white dude snaps and commits a crime that causes a media sensation and use it as proof that race is no factor in crime stats. The truth is, the every day murders, rapes, robberies, assaults, carjackings, thefts, etc are committed mostly by african American males. In fact, if this small minority of people stopped committing crimes today, it would solve the budget crisis of every state in the US. You see Mr Need to Think Mo Betta, if there were no need to incarcerate african American criminals, you could close over 80% of the nations prisons, eliminate half of the law enforcement officers and slash probation and parole departments. These officers and facilities continue to manage the same predominately african American male offenders, over and over and over again. Try reading more non-fiction and digesting more of what you read. Stats don't lie.

its sad people are ignorant. but the point is everyone (Race) have there share in crime. Race shouldnt be an issue. but since people want to bring Race in the picture. 1.What Percentage of Race(s)steel, rob commit murder 2. What Percentage of Race(s)Molest children 3.What percentage of Race(s)goes in and shoots everyone up b/c they lost there job or strees on life 4. What percentage of Race(s) is blowing up everyone. 5. And dont think that the goverment have there share of dishonesty for all this countrys people. so if you trying to make as if one race is problem then you are clearly mistaken. Open your eyes and you need to see the world and whats going on. The point is as people there are problems and every race share there problems. So get over it.

"Don't Tread On Me!", you are right. There are a LOT more concealed carriers out there than most people realize. According to the most recently published records, there are 2,506 in Pitt County, 811 in Beaufort County, and 1,554 in Carteret County. There are 158,590 valid permits in the entire state total. So criminals, beware. You just never know if your next "victim" might be able to defend themself. Of course, if all those permit holders would just Open Carry (instead of hiding their firearms), the criminals would KNOW that there are a LOT of NC citizens who are not willing to be victims...

I have 3 sons. I did everything I was supposed to. Ask questions meet friends punishments etc. and yet one of my sons still got in trouble. I am a single parent who works three count them three jobs to provide for my boys so dont give me that crap about parents being lazy. If a child wants to do something they are going to do it regardless of their upbringing. Murders come from the richest whitest families that you can find as well as the black ones. If you are looking to target blacks you will see more blacks. If you are looking to target whites that is what you will see more. If you look for something you will find it. Instead of complaining on this computer why dont all of you negative folks go out in the community and help someone. Everyone is complaining but how many of you are willing to lend a helping hand to anyone of any color in need? If you not going to do anything to make it better SHUT UP! because of you spreading your ignorance it is worse.

You want to blame someone. BLAME THEIR PARENT(S). Too lazy to see what junior was doing. Don't preach to me about working hard and not having the time. I have three kids, product of a divorce, two are grown, I worked my butt off. I knew where my kids were, and I called them on some juvenile BS early on. I asked questions, where are you, where did ya get that. why, because it is the job of a parent to keep your kids safe, teach them, correct them, because they all make mistakes. The key is to correct the mistakes. Be willing to devote your self to making sure they are headed in the right direction. Not take the lazy way out. You show me a kid in trouble and I guarantee that they have a parent who is MIA, they can not be bothered. They use excuses as to their lack of leadership and control. Your animals are attacking the rest of us black, white, hispanic, asian, we are tired of being victims of what you created and released on society. lazy bums
