Two Teens Charged In Mall Carjacking

Police say they have made two arrests in last week's carjacking outside of the New Bern Mall.

New Bern police, with the help of Pamlico County deputies, located Marvin Blango. The 16-year-old from Bayboro is charged with common law robbery, kidnapping, assault and conspiracy to commit robbery.

They have also charged a second teen with the car theft. Torian Crawford of New Bern was already in the Carteret County jail on other charges. He too is charged with common law robbery, kidnapping, assault and conspiracy to commit robbery.

In that robbery a woman was physically assaulted after her vehicle was stolen in the mall parking lot. She was treated and released from the hospital while her car was found the next day near Trent Court.

Blango is in the Craven County jail on a $250,000 bond, while Crawford's bond was increased by a $100,000 for his additional charges.
