New Bern police need the public's help in identifying two men involved in a car jacking last night.
It happened in the parking lot of the New Bern Mall on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard around 9:00 p.m. When police arrived they found a woman had been physically assaulted and her vehicle stolen. The victim was treated for her injuries at Carolina East Medical Center.
The stolen car, a champagne colored 2006 Dodge Caravan, was recovered Thursday. Police have released surveillance photos of the two robbers.
The robbers were both described as black males between the ages of 18 and 25. One was wearing a white shirt, blue jean shorts and a black hat and Nike flip flops. The other was wearing a burgundy colored shirt, black pants, a white "doo rag", and white in color tennis shoes.
