The DOT says one ferry route in Eastern Carolina is returning to normal.
The Bayview-Aurora ferry route will resume normal operations Thursday with the 4:45 p.m. departure from Aurora.
The ferry was shut down Wednesday due to a mechanical problem with the Motor Vessel Gov. Daniel Russell.
There are two ferry changes in Eastern Carolina, one due to an inspection and another caused by a mechanical problem.
The latest change is suspending the Bayview-Aurora route due to a mechanical problem with the Motor Vessel Gov. Daniel Russell. The state says mechanics are working to fix the problem and normal runs will resume as soon as the vessel is fixed and they receive U.S. Coast Guard approval.
Meanwhile, the Cherry Branch-Minnesott Beach ferry route will run an amended schedule Wednesday. The annual Coast Guard boat inspection will be taking place.
From Cherry Branch, there will be no 8:15 a.m., 9:15 a.m., 10:15 a.m., or 11:15 a.m. runs in the morning, and no 12:15 p.m. and 1:45 p.m. runs in the afternoon.
From Minnesott Beach, there will be no 8:45 a.m., 9:45 a.m., 10:45 a.m. or 11:45 a.m. runs in the morning, and no 1:15 p.m. and 2:15 p.m. runs in the afternoon.
