Case Continued For Driver Accused In Fatal Crash

The case against a man lawmen say was behind the wheel of a truck that flipped after going more than 100 miles per hour, causing a crash that killed a teen, has been continued.

Taylor Elks, a 17 year old from New Bern, was killed in a crash in January in Jones County. Court records showed 57-year-old William Small was due in court today for a misdemeanor death by vehicle charge.

The case was continued until April 30 and Small was given a court-appointed attorney.
