The D.O.T. says a new bridge for downtown New Bern will finally open February 26th.
The new Alfred Cunningham draw bridge was supposed to open back in November, in time for New Bern's 300 birthday. But the new bridge opening has been delayed multiple times because of weather delays, according to the D.O.T.
The bridge is the main connection with downtown and Highways 17 & 70. That's been closed since August of 2007 when the old bridge was torn down.
