An annual chili cookoff returns to eastern Carolina this weekend.
Organizers in Havelock in Craven County have already started setting up tents and cooking stations.
The winner in each category will represent North Carolina in a world competition.
The categories include red chili, chili verde, and salsa.
The event is sponsored by the Havelock Chamber of Commerce and will feature about 75 vendors.
The event takes place Friday and Saturday at Walter B. Jones Park.
