Man Arrested After Daytime Store Robbery

A daring daylight armed robbery, and police say they quickly caught their suspect.

New Bern police have charged Duain Starks with robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Police say the robbery happened at the Five Points Mini Mart on National Avenue just before noon Thursday.

They say Starks came into the store, approached the counter with a gun and demanded money.

Police say they quickly spotted a man matching the description of the robber near Fowlers Lane and F Street.

Starks has also been charged with the robbery of an elderly man last week who was walking near the cemetery on National Avenue.

He's in the Craven County jail on a $75,000 bond.

Another bold criminal; broad open daylight; brandishing a weapon. Its an everyday occurance now. There is a new breed of animal, as I hesitate to say human being, loose on the streets of America. They have no morals and abuse everyone that doesn't turn them on to drugs, or hand over their 'prapaty' when demanded. No Obama intervention, eh?
