Drug Suspect Arrested In Children's Park

Authorities busted an alleged drug dealer Monday who was sitting on a bench in a children's park.

New Bern police arrested 23-year-old Bishop Aldridge after an officer approached him and noticed he was holding something in his hand. Officers say it turned out to be crack cocaine.

Aldridge took off on foot after the officer told him he was under arrest. He was taken into custody a few blocks away where police found him with 59 rocks of crack cocaine and more than 36 grams of marijuana.

Aldridge is being held on several drug charges in the Craven County jail under a $35,000 bond.
