In an anti-terrorism drill a group of Eco terrorists, took over the Cherry Point Air Station taking hostage, demanding money, even killing two Marines.
Thankfully it wasn't real life, but the scenario was used to practice the response of emergency workers and special response teams.
Terrorists planned to take over the air station, demanded money, and planes, and a complete shut down of the air station in 30 minutes time.
If first responders didn't give the terrorists what they asked for, the terrorists said they would kill Marines -- which did end up happening before the base responded, and freed the hostages.
Organizers say they were pleased at how base officials responded in a very short amount of time.
The drill is a yearly exercise conducted at Cherry Point to ensure all emergency workers are prepared for any type of terrorist attack.
