New Details On Harrier Jet Crash

There are new details about the harrier jet crash that killed a marine nine months ago.

Captain Alberto Bencosme died on December 29Th, 2008, when his AV-8B harrier went down just a few miles short of the runway at Cherry Point in Havelock. The report says Bencosme inadvertently left the flight path as he tried to get into landing position in misty and foggy weather, according to the New Bern Sun Journal. The paper also says Bencosme's commanding officer was relieved of his duties as a result of the investigation saying that officer did not validate Bencosme's readiness for the flight.
