Police have arrested a shooting suspect just before 10 this morning in New Bern at 1220 Main St.
Authorities responded to a 911 call to find the victim suffering from a gun shot wound.
Witnesses said the suspect, a black female wearing a white shirt, fled the area on a bicycle in the direction of Myrtle Ave.
Officers apprehended the suspect near the intersection of Myrtle Avenue and Raleigh Street within 10 minutes of receiving the call.
The victim was transported by emergency medical personnel to Carolina East Medical Center and then taken to Pitt Memorial Hospital.
Her identity and updates on her condition will be released once police have notified her family of the incident.
Charges have not yet been released against the suspect, 19-year-old Tamiaka O'Neal Bryant.
Witnesses told officers the two women had been arguing at a nearby convenience store earlier in the day, and the argument carried over to the scene of the shooting.
The investigation into this shooting is still on-going.
