Craven County Jail Escapee Caught In Connecticut

An inmate who was mistakenly released from the Craven County jail has been nabbed in Connecticut.

Jonathan Staton escaped July 8th after being arrested on drug and weapon charges. After an appearance in court, authorities say Staton promised to pay another inmate, Ricky Bryant, for his release papers.

The jailer who let Staton out was fired, while Bryant was charged with facilitating a jail escape.

There's no word yet on when Staton will be brought back to Craven County to face charges.
