A man was stabbed after police say a friend gave another man a ride Thursday night.
New Bern police say Patrick Rhyne was stabbed in the face and arm while in the front seat of his friends car.
Police say the two were riding down Hancock Street when a man approached the vehicle and asked for a ride. Rhyne says the man was in the back seat and became agitated as they drove. As the driver was slowing down to let the man out, police say that's when he stabbed Rhyne.
The man jumped out of the car near the Taco Bell on Neuse Boulevard and was never seen again. He is described as a white man in his 30's, clean shaven with spikey brown hair. He was wearing a white t-shirt and jeans.
Rhyne was treated for his injuries at CarolinaEast Medical Center.
