Hit & Run Victim's Family Speaks To WITN

The family of a pedestrian, police say was killed during a hit and run early Tuesday morning spoke to WITN.

New Bern Police have arrested 24 year old Brittany Hanigan in connection with the crime.

Arrild Force and his brother were walking down South Glenburnie road when a black Mitsubishi Eclipse struck him.

Lawmen say the driver Brittany Hanigan then sped off.

Force later died at a Wilmington Hospital.

Police say they found the Eclipse on Tomlinson Boulevard. Brittany Hanigan is charged with DWI and leaving the scene of an accident.

The victim's family spoke to WITN and is deeply saddened by their loss.

Police say Hanigan already has a pending court date later this month in Charlotte for another DWI charge.
