A Jacksonville soldier who gave his life for our country was remembered Wednesday.
NC National Guard Specialist Robert Bittiker, 39 years-old, was laid to rest Wednesday afternoon in Jacksonville.
Bittiker was one of four members of the guard killed last week in Baghdad. All four were based out of eastern Carolina.
Patriot Guard riders with flags in hand stood outside the funeral home in Jacksonville as dozens turned up to pay their last respects to the American hero. After the service, a motorcycle processional took place, finishing at the Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
Bittiker leaves behind a wife and two children.
A memorial service for Sergeant Carlos Baldeosignh of Havelock will take place Friday night in Morehead City.
The funeral of Sergeant Roger Adams also of Jacksonville , will take place Sunday at Jacksonville High School.
