Six years came and went since the last name was added to a memorial in Cape May, New Jersey to fishermen lost at sea.
Now, six more names adorn the granite memorial. Those include four members of the same family from Pamlico County.
Crew members of the Lady Mary, which sank in March, will be honored Friday night at a memorial service as part of a harbor festival. Only one person survived the sinking.
Clergy will say prayers, a U.S. Coast Guard band will play, and a wreath will be laid. For some relatives, it will be akin to a funeral service for loved ones whose bodies still have not been recovered.
The Coast Guard is still investigating the cause of the accident. Divers hired by the boat owner say damage to the sunken vessel could indicate a collision with another ship.
