After being trained for 8 weeks at the Craven Correction Institution, the Beaufort County Animal Control has a new leash on life graduate.

Dottie, is a Mixed Australian Shepard-Beagle that has just graduated from the new leash on life program at the Beaufort County Animal Control Shelter.

The program is designed to give shelter dogs basic training while allowing inmates at the Craven County Correctional Institute gain job skills by training dogs for an 8 week period.

Sandy Woolard at Animal Control says Dottie is a calm dog, with a loving personality.

Dottie is available for adoption and you can take her home by contacting the Beaufort County Animal Shelter.

What a wonderful program, that helps people and helps an animal a better chance at getting adopted. Thought they sent 2, what happened to the other one.
