Bike Rally Roars Through The Bear City This Weekend

The bike rally which usually rocks Myrtle Beach South Carolina, every year, will now be rolling through New Bern this weekend.

New Bern's mayor, Tom Bayliss welcomes the Carolina Harley Davidson Spring Rally after Myrtle Beach passed an ordinance restricting rallies.

Starting today and tomorrow, expect to see thousands of bikers on the roads near the New Bern fairgrounds.

This rally usually attract half a million people during bike week, which is now cut short to only a weekend.

There will be Ribbon Cutting for the Carolina Harley-Davidson Dealers Association's 69th Annual Spring Rally at 9:30 am, Friday at the
New Bern Fairgrounds located at 3700 East US 70 Highway in New Bern.

Not Surprised- as I mentioned to you before, we don't have one person assigned to reviewing comments. We do a real quick review of each one but things will slip by us. I do agree with you on this one. Wayne's comment clearly does not meet our criteria and has been deleted. If you (or any other reader) sees a comment that we should review, please let us know and we'll do so. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. CM

To the moderator: I believe I was called down on another story for calling someone trashy, but yet you post Wayne's comment about all harley riders being trashy and homosexuals.. What gives? I think some of the moderators need to read the rules! That is apalling to me! Not everyone that rides a Harley is trashy! There are plenty of Law Enforcement, EMT's and professionals that ride. That is discrimination. I bet if Wayne had said that all blacks or hispanics are trashy you wouldn't have posted that. Are you guys hiring? because I think I could do a much better job of being fair than the current moderators. You have made some bad judgement calls. Also, not everyone that rides is a lawbreaker. My husband and I ride along with my very good deputy friend, and both of them put their lives on the line every day to protect sorry citizens like Wayne that would make such a comment.

Rode the HOG 100 miles to NB Saturday. What a waste. I don't mind getting wet in the rain but 10 bucks to see a half dozen vendors in the mud at Craven County fairgrounds was a little much. I think we should all stay away from Myrtle Beach to let the politicians feel the heat from economic loss due to their bad decisions and force new elected officials to make an apology and beg for our return. For now I'll stick to Outer Banks Bike Week and go to other local events like the seafood festival they had in Englehard.

I totally agree with Anonymous! I don't like motorcycles either! I have the same experiences also! I actually think OR Nurse's comment was funny!

I have a stupid question for all you bikers out there, I know you are proud of your loud harleys and all that, But why do you pull up beside cars and REV your engines soo much. That is why I hate bikers. and to top it off, I have seen many bikers wearing earplugs. Just man-up already. you are tough men and wear ear plugs? you want everyone else to hear you coming, but you wear earplugs??? Earplugs go real well with all the leather.

New Bern's bike whatever it was, was the worse $10.00 I ever wasted!! I will be back in SC next year. Myrtle Beach may have kicked out the bikers but Horry County didn't. I was down there on Wednesday and had a blast. Wish I had stayed instead of going to New Bern today. I had a TERRIBLE time in New Bern.

Very well said Steve! And to think I was worried about making it through nursing school.

OR nurse, hope you never need roadside help and they know who you are. But a biker would help you anyway. I no longer ride (health) but some of you need to educate your selves. One female butt does not constitute prostitution among all bikers.
