A New Bern man accused of stabbing his wife was picked up by lawmen in Jacksonville, Florida.
Thomas Reginald Adams was picked up by a Sheriff's Department in Florida at 10:45 Friday night.
A spokesperson says Adams was driving his wife's Kia at a high rate of speed through a residential neighborhood.
Sheriff Deputies say they had to use stop sticks to gain control of the vehicle. Adams according to the spokesperson became violent with several lawmen and their canine dog until he was subdued with a teaser.
Adams was taken to a local hospital in Jacksonville with dog bites.
A spokesperson says Adams now faces several felony charges before he'll be extradited back to New Bern. The deputy said he expects Adams to be in a Florida court room on Monday.
New Bern police had called Jacksonville lawmen after tracing a call from a Florida pay phone to North Carolina.
New Bern police say a husband stabbed his wife Wednesday morning.
According to authorities when they showed up to a home at 1707 Asheville Street, Carol Ann Adams was found stabbed. She was airlifted to Pitt Memorial Hospital in critical condition.
