About 700 new jobs here in the east were put on hold Tuesday.

Two F-18 Super Hornet Squadrons slated for Cherry Point in 2010 have been delayed.

A spokesman for Boeing, the manufacturer of the aircraft, said the squadrons arrival has been shifted to August of 2013 and April of 2014.

Some Havelock city officials began to doubt the squadron's arrival when the Navy said it would start over, to find an OLF site in the Tarheel State.

Danny Walsh, Mayor Pro Tem of Havelock says he wouldn't be surprised if another aircraft took the place of the super hornet.
