A flight bound for New Bern had a near miss on the runway at Charlotte Douglas Airport.
The FAA says a Cessna on a training flight came within less than a half mile of U.S. Airways Flight 4252 on the runway in Charlotte Tuesday. That's according to Charlotte TV station WSOC.
The planes were taking off at the same time on criss-crossing runways. The FAA said the control tower told the Cessna pilot to wait for the New Bern bound plane, which the Cessna pilot acknowledged, but then crossed the runway anyway. No one was hurt, and the flight to New Bern was not delayed.
