Police said a total of three wrecks along Highway 70 in Havelock caused a commuter headache Tuesday morning.
Police Chief Wayne Cyrus said at 6:58, 7:15, and 7:44 a.m., police responded to three separate wrecks.
Officers said between the first two wrecks, two people were taken to the hospital.
No one was taken to the hospital from the third wreck at 7:44 a.m.
No names of those involved of their conditions have been released.
Spokeswoman Diane Miller said all three wrecks happened along Highway 70 between the Walmart store and the Macdonald Downs subdivision.
Officials said traffic was backed up in both directions of Highway 70 near Carolina Pines.
Some drivers said they navigated through traffic for more than half an hour.
Havelock Police are investigating the wrecks.
