The 32nd Annual CROP Walk took place in New Bern Sunday.
Over 300 hundred members of the community each raised about a hundred dollars on average and walked around the downtown area.
According to organizer Jennifer Butler, the money donated will go to an organization called Church World Services and will help fund food kitchens and disaster relief both nationally & internationally.
"I've never had to worry about what's going to be on my dinner table and it bothers me that there's so many people right here in New Bern that don't know for sure where their next meal will come from and the horrendous conditions that many people in the third world live,” said participant Leeann Fordyce, “And I just love having this opportunity to reach out and help."
25% of all money raised comes directly back to the Craven County Community.
