21 Face Drug & Other Charges Following Investigation In Craven County


A four-month investigation targeting the illegal sale of prescription pills and other controlled substances in and around the Craven County area results in charges against nearly two-dozen people.

The Coastal Narcotics Enforcement Team, specifically Law Enforcement from Craven County Sheriff's Department and the New Bern Police Department, conducted the investigation.

The team investigated individuals and organizations they say are involved in manufacturing, distributing, or selling illegal drugs within the local surrounding counties.

The following 21 people face charges:

Travis Alexander Spears, 28-years-old, Havelock. Arrested without incident on April 16, 2013 for possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver marijuana.

Brandon Tyler Fung, A/M DOB: 04-16-91 of the 100 block of Blackheath Drive in New Bern was arrested without incident on April 16, 2013 for possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver schedule II (Oxycodone) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

April Lancaster, W/F DOB: 09-15-79 of the 200 block of Lilliana Court in New Bern was arrested without incident on April 17, 2013 for attempting to obtain a controlled substance by forgery/fraud.

Crystal Lewis Scott, W/F DOB: 08-10-78 of the 2600 block of Alabama Avenue in New Bern was arrested on April 17, 2013 for possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver schedule II (Oxycodone). In addition to the above Scott was also charged with; possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver, schedule II (Methylphenidate Hydrochloride, Oxymorhone Hydrochloride, and Methadone Hydrochloride), possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver, schedule IV (Alprazolam), maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. A juvenile subject in the residence was also found to be in possession of a controlled substance and juvenile petitions are pending in that matter.

Michael Edward Price, W/M DOB: 05-18-87 of the 2600 block of Alabama Avenue in New Bern was arrested on April 17, 2013 for an outstanding failure to appear warrant.

Derek Leon Chandler Jr, B/M DOB: 02-16-96 of the streets of New Bern was arrested on April 17, 2013 for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Cynthia Dodge Dillon, W/F DOB: 02-10-44 of the 500 block of Jefferson Avenue in New Bern was arrested without incident on April 17, 2013 for conspiracy to sell and deliver schedule II (crack cocaine).

Dino Vaughn Walker, B/M DOB: 12-21-64 of the 1900 block of Cleveland Street in New Bern was arrested on April 17, 2013 for possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver schedule II (crack cocaine). In addition to the above Walker was also charged with; possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver schedule II (Oxycodone), possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver, schedule IV (Alprazolam), maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

James Brooks III, B/M DOB: 06-21-69 of the 600 block of Staten Road was arrested on April 17, 2013 for conspiracy to sell and deliver schedule II (Oxycodone), possession of schedule IV (Alprazolam), and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Joshua Osmond Bainbridge, W/M DOB: 06-13-85 of the 300 block of Armstrong Avenue in New Bern was arrested without incident on April 18, 2013 for possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver schedule II (Oxycodone) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Darren Tallman, W/M DOB: 08-04-65 of the 200 block of Dale Street in New Bern was arrested without incident on April 18, 2013 for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Suzanne Stilley, W/F DOB: 02-16-60 of the 200 block of Dale Street in New Bern was cited and released without incident on April 18, 2013 for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Kristen Rice, W/F DOB: 12-21-81 of the 200 block of Dale Street in New Bern was cited and released without incident on April 18, 2013 for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of schedule IV (Diazepam).

Joseph Rice, W/M DOB: 05-27-74 of the 200 block of Dale Street in New Bern was cited and released without incident on April 18, 2013 for possession of drug paraphernalia.

James Antonio Moore, B/MDOB: 09-19-76 of the 100 block of Duds Road in New Bern was arrested on April 19, 2013 without incident for trafficking in cocaine by transport and conspiracy to sell and deliver schedule II (crack and powder cocaine). In addition to the above Moore was also charged with; possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver marijuana, maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance, possession of cocaine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Fredrick Anthony Carmon, B/M DOB: 12-20-70 of the 600 block of Southwest Middle school Road in New Bern was arrested without incident on April 19, 2013 for Failure to pay child support and failure to appear.

Christopher Brimmer, B/M DOB: 11-02-78 of the 600 block of Grantham Road in New Bern was arrested without incident on April 19, 2013 for possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver schedule II (Oxycodone).

David Christopher Welch, W/M DOB: 12-09-76 of the 300 block of Hoke Street in New Bern was arrested without incident on April 19, 2013 for trafficking opium or heroin.

April Michelle Geary, W/F DOB: 12-17-79 of the 600 block of Howell Street in New Bern was arrested without incident on April 19, 2013 for trafficking opium or heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. In addition to the above Geary was also charged with possession of spice and possession of drug paraphernalia. Geary was served an additional warrant for failure to appear. She was held on a $100,500.00 secured bond and given a first appearance of April 22, 2013.

Patricia Lynn Bass, W/M DOB: 05-23-72 of the 1000 block of Brame Drive in New Bern was arrested without incident on April 19, 2013 for possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver schedule II (Oxycodone) and maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances..
