A driver running a red light is to blame in a three-car accident in Newport.
The Highway Patrol confirmed the collision on Highway 70 at Hibbs Rd. around 6 p.m. Tuesday.
According to a trooper directing traffic, a white truck pulling a utility trailer ran a red light. A vehicle in the intersection stuck the truck, and the truck hit a third car.
There is no word on any injuries or how many people were involved in the crash, but ambulances were on the scene. The trooper said there were no fatalities at the scene.
