Thieves Target Drug Stores In Two Counties

Carteret County and Craven County lawmen are searching for two people who are stealing antacid pills and cosmetic creams from area drug stores.

According to Chief Don Miller of the Cape Carteret police department, the thieves hit Walgreens in Cape Carteret on Monday and the Walgreens and CVS stores in Morehead City on Wednesday.

Authorities say video surveillance show the same two robbers in all the thefts.

Havelock police in Craven County also report cosmetic items and antacids were stolen from a CVS there, and surveillance video indicates it may be the same two suspects. That theft happened December 20.

I work in the pharmacy business and this does not surprise me. Drugs like Prevacid and Prilosec used for acid reflux cost $15-$20 OTC and are hot items. Just a little surprised that the door alarm didn't go off if it was these items. Many stores have the magnetic strip on these and have to deactivate them after checkout. Cosmetics no big surprise either, they probably going to the flea market and unloading them for a quick buck. Just a shame that people have to resort to this type of activity while many honest people pay considerable prices for these items.

Have read some nice stories about people 'giving' to others for Christmas. Sad to read that others are 'taking' for themselves, for Christmas. I'm glad they got caught, but how long before they are released to do it again.

I am active duty. I pay taxes just like everyone else, and I don't make poop. That isn't the reason why I joined the service. I get up every morning early as heck. Sometimes I want to sleep in, but I gotta put food on my table for my family. I feel like my taxes are being wasted on stupid individuals who commit crimes, and just got sit in jail for years. Lesson Learned-was free vacation, and no bills. what the world is going with people these days. I have lost friends in afgan. Maybe you two knuckleheads will c this and get your head out of your 232323 and rest of you law breaking fools.

They steal these items and big bottles of Tylenol, etc, to sell. You can often find them at yard sales. That's why lots of pharmacies have those little hard to remove stickers that say where they are from and a phone number.

'Tis the season for indigestion and dry skin. Has someone figured out a new way to make crack out of oil of olay and tums? And someone tell the snooty North Face chick to use the door on her right next time she leaves the store.

Have they come up with a new drug made from antacids and cosmetic creams...next you'll have to sign to purchase those.
