Good news for homeowners as Hurricane Cristobal looks to stay well off the North Carolina Coast.
The current track forecast from the National Hurricane Center keeps the storm about 400 miles off the coast, but surfers are still looking forward to its effects.
On Tuesday, surfers were out in full force at Atlantic Beach.
"You have fun," says David Sledge. "It's not quite as intense as it could be in the water, but you don't miss life, limb or property."
Surfers like Sledge say they always look forward to hurricane season, especially since the Crystal Coast isn't known for big waves.
Hurricane Cristobal should make its closest pass on Wednesday. Wave heights are expected to be between four and eight feet. Those who do head out should be mindful of strong rip currents.
