Those devastated by Hurricane Irene have until Friday to visit some FEMA disaster recovery centers across Eastern Carolina.
Centers in Jacksonville, Kinston and Morehead City will close Friday at 7 p.m.
A new center will open in the Jones County town of Trenton. The center will be open noon to 7 p.m. on Friday and 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Monday and Tuesday. It is closed Sunday and will close permanently at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 11. The center is located at the Board of Elections Building at 389 Highway 58 South.
Survivors who still require assistance may call the FEMA helpline at 800-621-3362 or visit any other disaster recovery center. Other centers remain open Monday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. in Chocowinity, Columbia, Grantsboro, Greenville, Halifax, Hobucken, Manteo, New Bern and Swan Quarter.
