The town of Atlantic Beach has organized a relief fund for the people who lost their homes and belongings in last week's tornado.
That's according to the town's Facebook page.
The relief fund is set up through the Atlantic Beach Volunteer Fire Department. Donations are currently being accepted in person or via mail at Town Hall.
According to the Facebook page, checks can be made payable to ABVFD Tornado Relief Fund. The post reminds you that donations are tax-deductible and says "the funds received will go towards housing, food, clothing and other essential items for our displaced neighbors. The Town of AB is working with the American Red Cross to help these citizens and we would appreciate your support."
The FB post states it is hoped an on-line donation option will be set up soon and "let's show what it means to belong to the A.B. Community. Let's show them that we take care of our own. #ABStrong"
