Wednesday marks one week since a tornado ripped through Carteret County with 110mph winds.
Debris still lines the roads to a neighborhood in Peletier leading to some of hardest hit homes in the Little Kinston road area where several homes were flattened.
Neal Elmore was working hard Tuesday to get his yard cleaned up. He says although it's going to be a long road to clean up, they have recovered from a hurricane so they will recover again.
A total of 71 properties were damaged by the tornado. The state damage assessment team determined out of those 71 properties - 14 homes had minor damage, 3 had major, and 3 were destroyed.
